Welcome

Tom's Cottage, self catering holiday cottage, Dalton-in-Furness, Cumbria, close to Ulverston and Barrow in Furness, the Furness Peninsula and the South Lakes.

Ulverston

Location

We are in a very rural location, surrounded by countryside and overlooking Burlington Trout Lake. There are footpaths from the house, and suggested walks are in the box of tourist literature/maps. There are over 40 types of bird feeding and nesting in our grounds and the immediate area. Previous guests all comment on the variety of birdsong heard here.

Dalton in Furness

We are 1 ½ miles north of Dalton-in-Furness, where there are several pubs, at least 3 serving meals, and 2 excellent restaurants – one which is very reasonably priced. There is a large Co-op, a post office, banks, chemist and take-away food outlets.

A car is essential as we are up a private road, so there is no public transport within a mile.

Windermere

Tom’s Cottage is attached to Park Cottage, and is now a self-contained holiday cottage, having previously been an award winning guest house. It is ideal for 2 couples wanting to share a holiday cottage. Only one child over 8 years can be accepted.

Park Cottage is a long , low detached house, some of which dates back 400 years. There are some old, exposed beams, and is a typical country cottage, but with modern facilities. We have 3 acres of grounds, mainly steep woodland, but some flower beds and a car park.

Upstairs, there are three bedrooms, (one with a King-sized bed; a double bedded en-suite room and the third room has a single bed, (suitable for a child over 8 years, or adult under 5’6”in height). There is also a family bathroom. Both double rooms can be used as en-suites.

On the ground floor is a sitting room, a dining room and a kitchen/diner.

Free WiFi

Tom’s Cottage has the benefit of being surrounded by countryside - farmland, woodland and Burlington Lake and enjoys peace and tranquillity. There is car-parking, and the cottage has its own garden, with outdoor seating.
